The body has many languages of its own, found in the minds of organs, muscles, endocrine. cardiovascular, skeletal systems. And many connective patterns, rhythms and conversations within and across these systems. Fundamentally from the cytoskeleton of cells, through fascial, tissue layers and into the energetic field around us - our bodies and their elemental compounds and energies are the tangible interface we experience as 'us' with seen and unseen worlds of experience, emitting and receiving in every moment.
Somatic psychology and psychotherapy open channels of connection for us to experience and begin to understand the primal languages and wisdom held within the bodyminds and soma. These disciplines, which have built on, and oftentimes appropriated ancient traditions of known wisdom and indigenous cosmologies that came long before scientific method, support exploration, re-patterning and strengthening of relationship to creating openings and transformation through generative change. Bodynamics multilayered and integrative approach supports this primarily through working with the psycho-emotional functions encoded within the muscles, and the relational attachments we have formed across developmental stages throughout our lifespan. Offering intimate and tender exploration of how our outer environment, cultural, familial and personal encounters have quite literally shaped out muscles, the tensions and collapses in them alongside the resourced adaptations that keep us within buoyant life force. Dignity and mutual connection are centred within this lineage of work. Through integrative bodywork and movement therapy embodiment, authentic movement and somatic practices, support depth exploration of embryological imprints, birth and transpersonal experiences which can bring clarity to repeating patterns and life themes - again supporting a repatterining through relationship and intimate somatic dialogue within awareness, awakening and expansion within the bodymind. |
